This 1957 AC Ace Bristol
was once owned by our good friend, Ernie Mendicki.
Chassis No. BE326, has been a race car its entire life. Original
owner, Bill Bradshaw, competed in many club races (including an 8th
overall at Spa in 1959) and hillclimbs throughout Europe in the late fifties and
early sixties. At some point in the late sixties the car was brought
to the United States heavily damaged. In 1978, the car was bought
by Alf Norman. Together, Alf Norman and Ernie Mendicki completely
restored BE326 to the car you see here. The Ace was subsequently raced throughout
the west coast in CSRG and HMSA historic events in the 80s and
early 90s as well as six appearances at the Monterey Historic Automobile
Races. In
2004 the Ace appeared at The Quail - A Motorsports Gathering.
